Proposition: Digital Disruptions Will Fuel Growth & Prosperity
In 2016, 53.2% of the world population was connected to the Internet. Social Media platforms connected 2.8bn people, more than 1/3 of the world population. China alone has an untapped potential of 676m awakening digital customers. Global e-Commerce revenue is expected to almost double to US$2,1tn by 2021. The Sharing Economy alone presents a market opportunity of over $450bn, Internet of Things is expected to be a $7tn by 2020. And the Top 10 digital CEOs manage revenues of $846bn and own a combined fortune of $312bn.
Yet across the developing world, many people still lack internet access and suffer from climate change, pervasive poverty, lack of quality education and infectious diseases.
This town hall features nine leaders who will look at key digital disruptions through several lenses and debates its impact to transform lives and play a critical role in driving positive business and social results in numerous ways. We will explore Digital Disruptions & Machines; Digital Disruptions & Humans; Digital Disruptions & Creativity.

Closing Plenary & Reflections
Proposition: Design Intelligence Will Power Our Fates… Not Lead Us to World War III
What will be the true impact of singularity on business and society? How will the result of today’s shake-up of climate deals, trade relations, immigration policies, business disruptions, economic nationalism and automation affect humanity? Some businesses and cities will see their leadership diminish. Some certainly will survive and thrive. Others will emerge as the world’s next innovators.
This town hall meeting will feature designers who are using biological, physical, natural and digital innovations in the implementation of intelligent products and places, and services and systems that are resilient, sustainable, competitive and safe. It will debate the proposition that design intelligence will power our fates and not lead us to World War III.
Intelligent designers will not allow machine markers to gloom the fabric of our human identity. They will work together with scientists, technologists, entrepreneurs, policy makers, investors and the public to solve the intelligence trilemma: singularity design as a catalyst for moral exponential growth, technology as a transformation tool that enables hybridity between human and machines, and livability as a driver for intelligent products, places, services and experiences.
Can they? Will they?
